Ghana: visible actions to sustainably manage groundwater resources

In Ghana most of the water withdrawn for drinking and for irrigation comes from groundwater sources. But the World Bank estimates annual losses due to water pollution equivalent to about 3% of Ghana’s GDP. Despite this, Ghana can be well-positioned to sustainably manage its water resources through strategic local actions, more equitable and inclusive water resource management, and collaborative partnerships on data and digitalization.
