Hydrology; Hydrogeology
Ireland, GalwayWe offer two taught courses: 1. EOS305 Introduction to Applied Field Hydrology. This is a 5ECTS introductory module that is split between hydrology and hydrogeology. This course is open to third year EOS, Environmental Science and general science students. 2. EOS418 Applied Field Hydrogeology. This is a 5ECTS module focused on applied hydrogeology. Well and pump testing are key components of the class, and each year we explore a broad hydrogeology area, for example, in recent years we've covered fracking, coastal karst hydrogeology, mining hydrogeology, structural controls on groundwater resources. This course is open to fourth (final) year EOS, Environmental Science and general science students. It is also a post-graduate option for students enrolled in the MEng Programme.
