Hydrogeology/ Environmental Geology; Professional Sciences Master’s degree
United StatesThe program provides graduate-level training on topics in geology, soil, and water that are used in environmental management, but differs from a traditional M.S. in that it also includes environmental law, business, and project management courses and a capstone (not a thesis) project. A Professional Science Master's degree in Environmental Geology (PSM-EG) and Graduate Certificate in Environmental Geology are available. The Certificate can be earned entirely online; All PSM-EG courses can be taken online, with the exception of three, face-to-face field workshops.

United StatesThe certificate program combines our highly regarded six-week field course (now optional) with three geoscience electives (12 credit hours total). The geoscience electives are offered online and also at our main campus in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Since its inception in 1987, our hydrogeology field course has been attracting students and professionals from across the nation and the world. The field course is offered in Kalamazoo, Mich. each summer.
You’ll spend six weeks in the field getting hands-on experience in:
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
Geophysical methods of investigating ground water.
Aquifer testing.
Groundwater sampling and monitoring.
Well drilling and installation.

United StatesThe Department of Geology offers an in-person MS degree designed for professionally-minded students who want to pursue careers in industries related to natural resource exploration, environmental stewardship, regulation compliance, and hazardous waste site remediation. We have a diverse faculty and student body, covering many areas of the geosciences (https://geology.uga.edu/research). Students are supported by teaching and research assistantships, and funding for graduate research and travel expenses is supported by several department funds.

Environmental Geology
United StatesUniversity of Georgia’s online M.S. in Environmental Geology is designed for working professionals who wish to open up careers in industries dedicated to the exploration of natural resources (energy, metals, minerals, water), public-sector regulation and protection of the environment, and environmental remediation. The 30-credit program includes such courses as: Aqueous Environmental Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Hazardous Waste Site Remediation, and Water Resource Economics and Management. The program also includes a non-thesis research component designed to provide real-world experience. Six units (1-2 courses) are taken for five consecutive semesters (21 months) with 100% asynchronous instruction. An undergraduate degree in geology is not required for the program.

United States, AmherstWe offer an extensive hydrogeology curriculum at both the upper undergraduate and graduate levels. We offer courses: Introduction to Hydrogeology, Advanced Hydrogeology, Fluids and Geologic Processes, Ecohydrology, Groundwater-Surface Water Interactions. Additionally we offer research MS and PhD degrees through the Department of Geosciences we run a 1-yr Professional Geohydrology MS program. The 1-yr MS program is a 2 semester course based program with a strong focus on the integration of modeling and field-related hydrogeologic investigations.
