WMU Hydrogeology Field Course
Hydrogeology Field Training. Greetings fellow geoscientists,
Are you looking for a summer geology field camp that will help to prepare you for a successful career in the geosciences while emphasizing state-of-the-art techniques for sampling, monitoring and evaluating groundwater systems? I am writing to inform you that the hydrogeology field camp offered by the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Western Michigan University, one of very few hydro-technical programs in the United States, is now accepting applications for 2019. This applied course has trained hundreds of students from around the nation and abroad. The hydrogeology field course teaches the following skills: aquifer testing, environmental surface geophysics, groundwater, soil and soil vapor sampling and monitoring, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, remediation and contaminant hydrogeology and well drilling, design and installation.
The Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at WMU will be offering the Hydrogeology Field Camp twice during the summer of 2019:
Session I: May 13 to June 21
Session II: July 8 to Aug. 16
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Registration for both sessions will remain open until April 15, 2019, or until filled. The earlier you complete your registration, the better chance you will have of securing a spot in the course. Enrollment is limited to qualified applicants with preference to those whom apply first and/or apply for multiple weeks.
