  Groundwater Sampling Methodology & Equipment

  When faced with differing hydrogeology, borehole and well constructions, what options do you have? Does the methodology you use produce "representative" water samples? Including low flow and no-purge groundwater sampling methods. Due to the overwhelming response, the training on 12th April is now fully booked and a second offering has been opened up on 13th April.   The full day training seminar is delivered at a central UK venue and will provide delegates with up to date knowledge including:

  We have introduced two workshop sessions to allow delegates to think through core technical sampling issues and to share experience in the room.
  We have added a new presentation to include information related to laboratories, sample preservation and quality control checks.

  Why screen length is important when selecting sampling methods
  How flow within a borehole influences sample quality
  An overview and comparison of the 3 main groundwater sampling methods i.e.
  Well Volume Purge (3 or more well volumes)
  Low Flow (or micro-purge) – including demonstration
  Passive (or zero-purge) – including demonstration
  Explanation of "flow-weighted average" and "representative"
  Current UK guidance e.g. Environment Agency, BS ISO 5667-11:2009 (Groundwater sampling) and BS ISO 10175:2011 (Contaminated Land investigation)
  Interpretation of water quality from long screened wells
  R&D insights based on research at the University of Birmingham by Dr. Lindsay McMillan
  Demonstrations and hands-on opportunities with groundwater monitoring equipment
  Indoor and outdoor demonstrations (outdoor includes use of equipment in on-site 60m deep water well)
