Glaciers and Groundwater Interactions: Challenges in a Changing Climate
Melting snow and ice from mountains are critical for freshwater supply in many regions. However, the interactions between glaciers, groundwater and permafrost remain under-researched, particularly within the context of a changing climate. In this webinar, high-level scientists from the International Association of Hydrogeologists will present an overview on the issues surrounding research into this topic, as well as demonstrating the importance of groundwater in storing glacial meltwater by presenting two case studies. Panellists have also been invited to discuss future solutions and research needed on this crucial topic.
