Hard Rock Aquifers: Up to date concepts and practical applications
This is the 20th holding of the "Technical Days" of the French Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists. The conference has two main objectives: - to propose a state of the art of recent progress about the geological structure, hydrogeological properties and functioning of plutonic and metamorphic rock aquifers (“Hard Rock” aquifers), related to stratiform weathering profiles as well as to sub-vertical discontinuities; - and to present the main practical applications derived from these concepts: mapping of groundwater potential at various scales, water well siting, management and modelling of the water resources, groundwater protection against pollutants, evaluating the durability of non-point source contamination.
The conference will comprise two days of oral presentations, poster sessions and round tables open to all the attendants. The third day will be devoted to a field trip. The official languages of the conference will be French and English. English-French and French-English simultaneous translation will be provided.Organised by The French Chapter of IAH and BRGM.
