IAH-RGFC Lecture Series
Regional groundwater flow systems. In the next lecture of the IAH-RGFC Lecture Series, Yueqing Xie (Nanjing University of China) will give a talk about the effect of faults on groundwater flow and age that has not been widely studied in Tóthian flow systems yet. Their theoretical study shows that, when fault zones act as barriers, new local and intermediate flow systems are formed upstream and downstream of the fault zones, causing age changes mainly in deep parts of the flow system. When the fault zones act as conduits, groundwater is slightly younger than it would be without the fault zones. Join our online lecture and learn more about this topic!.
