2nd Islands Water Congress
Resilient Islands: Securing Water for Sustainable Development in a Changing World. Hosted by the IWRA and the Water Resources Authority of Jamaica, the Islands Water Congress is a global event dedicated specifically to freshwater challenges and solutions in island contexts. It brings together island governments, practitioners, researchers, and communities to advance practical, island-specific approaches to freshwater management.
In doing so, the Congress amplifies island voices in the global water dialogue.
Building on the success of the 1st Islands Water Congress, held in the Faroe Islands in 2024, the 2nd Islands Water Congress will continue to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange across island contexts.
More information on participation and engagement will be available in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you in Jamaica!.Organised by IWRA.

38th International Geological Congress
Geosciences for Humanity. The International Geological Congress (IGC) is the premier conference for the advancement of global Earth Science. It takes place every four years in a major city, attracting over 6,000 geoscientists from across the globe - akin to hosting the Olympics for Earth Sciences. In 2024, Canada won the bid host the 38th IGC, IGC 2028, in Calgary in 2028. The Scientific Program is inspired by the congress tagline “Geosciences for Humanity”.
The history of the Earth, from its infancy 4.6 billion years ago to the present day, is captured across The Americas. Against this backdrop, we will explore our human environment, climate drivers, resources essential for modern-day life, mitigation of natural disasters, corporate social responsibilities and Indigenous reconciliation.
