  WATER IN SEMI ARID ENVIRONMENTS ” OUR WATER, OUR PEACE”

  HYDROGEODAY PALAPYE, BOTSWANA EXPLORING GROUNDWATER RESOURCES IN ARID ENVIRONMENT
  The Hydrogeoday event in Botswana is proposed to be held at the main ward (Kgotla) in Palapye Botswana. Keynote speakers for the event will include village leaders or stakeholders, a representative from the Department of Water and Sanitation, Water Utilities Corporation and Botswana Climate Change Network. The objective of this event will be to raise awareness on the importance of groundwater resources, the current water challenges in Botswana and climate change impacts on groundwater resources.

  Water Security and Climate Change Adaptation.
  Discussions on strategies for ensuring water security in the face of climate change impacts in Botswana

  10:00 am - 10:45 am: Panel Discussion
  "Sustainable Management of Groundwater Resources in Botswana"
  Panelists: Representatives Water Utilities Corporation, student from Biust and a Lecture.
  10:45 am - 11:00 am: Break
  11:00 am-1pm Practical demonstration: participants are offered the opportunity to manage field equipment and perform measurements "in situ". This allows them to experience ‘first-hand’ the work of a hydrogeologist. The team plan to use one of the boreholes in Palapye to demonstrate this.

  Note: This program schedule offers a blend of informative sessions, interactive workshops, and a field trip, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of hydrogeology in Botswana. Adjustments can be made based on specific speakers, and preferences of the organizers and participants.
